MAVIPA Scholarship

The Marathi Science Council has started this scholarship scheme since 2016 with the objective of providing support and encouragement to the students for pursuing higher education in basic sciences. M.Sc. Physics / Mathematics or Statistics / Chemistry / Biology (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Life Science, Biochemistry) or M.A. (Mathematics / Statistics)

This is a scholarship scheme for the students of this course. Two students from each subject are selected for the scholarship. M.Sc. / M.A. (Mathematics / Statistics) Applications are invited from students who have taken admission in the first year of the academic year 2020-21.

Eligibility criteria and application is available further here. After filling the application form on the website properly, it is mandatory to send the stamp and signature of the university along with the copies of the results to the council by 15/03/2021.

Scholarship Scheme

1. This scheme is for students studying in Maharashtra. M.Sc. {Physics / Chemistry / Biology (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Life Science, Biochemistry) / Mathematics or Statistics} or M.Sc. / M.A. (Mathematics / Statistics).

2. This course is a scholarship scheme for students who are admitted in the first year of the academic year 2020-21.  The scholarships will be awarded to two students each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics / Statistics (M.Sc./M.A.).

3. Scholarship amount for each year of M.Sc / MA in each subject is Rs. 10,000 / – (Rupees Ten Thousand only). Scholarship holders can get M.Sc. / M.A. Only if you get 60% or more marks in Part 1 examination, you can get M.Sc. / M.A. Part 2 will be eligible for the scholarship.

4. M.A. in a college / university or other official (University Grants Commission recognized) institution residing in Maharashtra and in Maharashtra. SC. / M. A.

5. The scheme is open to all students admitted for (Mathematics / Statistics) (irrespective of race, religion, caste and gender). This scholarship is for regular students only.

6 . Scholarship holders pursue M.Sc. / In both the years of MA, a total of 60 hours every year, is expected to participate in the work of Marathi Science Council’s ‘Dissemination of Science for Society’.

7. This participation can be done in any of the ways like holding workshops, giving lectures, disseminating science through social media, writing science, etc. Scholarship holders can apply for their M.Sc. / M.A. You have to keep in touch with the Marathi Vigyan Parishad department near the institute.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The student has to do 10th, 12th and B.Sc in the third year / BA in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Life Science, Biochemistry) or Mathematics / Statistics (for which the scholarship has been applied) At least 70% marks are required in the third year.
2. Students need a minimum of 80% marks in 10th standard examination.
3. The student needs a minimum of 70% marks in the 12th standard examination.
4. In B.Sc / BA examination, the student needs a minimum of 60% marks in all the three years.

How To Apply?

Applications for this scholarship can be obtained from the website of Marathi Vigyan Parishad. The student should make a printed copy of the application. Completed and signed application should be scanned and sent to the e-mail given by the council or by post / courier to the address of the council.
